Rocksalt’s menus are inspired by the wealth of fresh ingredients that Kent & the South East has to offer.

Food with a view

The heart and soul of Rocksalt are our menus, served inside the stunning restaurant space & outside on our sun drenched terrace. We take time and effort to source our ingredients as locally as possible: from the day boats working along the South Coast to the local farms set in the rolling Kent countryside, our focus is always on provenance.

Something for everyone

Our A La Carte menu changes seasonally, showcasing everything from the freshest fish to the best quality meat, as well as locally sourced smoked or cured fish. On Sundays it’s all about the traditional roast, with a selection of locally reared meats and a roast fish of the day. Family is something that is very important to us and we welcome children of all ages, offering under 10’s their very own menu. We can cater for most dietary needs so please let us know in advance if you have any special requirements.

A lunch with Michael Vaughan OBE
An afternoon with one of England’s most distinguished former cricket captains

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting cricket legend Michael Vaughan OBE for our next “A lunch with…” event at Rocksalt this coming October, hosted by Ian Stafford from The Sporting Club and in support of The Evie Dove Foundation.

Michael Vaughan is best remembered for captaining England to their historic 2005 Ashes victory—a triumph celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Over his international career he played 82 Test matches, scoring more than 5,700 runs and 18 centuries, cementing his place as one of the finest batters of his generation.

Since retiring, Vaughan has become a respected broadcaster and pundit, offering sharp, insightful commentary on the modern game. Just days after joining us at Rocksalt, he will depart for Australia to be part of the coverage of this year’s 2025 Ashes series—making this a rare and timely opportunity to hear his reflections on past glories and thoughts on England’s future.

With two Ashes tie-ins—celebrating the unforgettable 2005 series and looking ahead to the upcoming battles down under—this Sporting Club lunch promises to be a must for cricket fans.

We keep a number of tables available for walk-ins, alternatively use the form below to book a restaurant table online. To book over the phone, or for parties greater than 6, call 01303 212070 (select option 8 to speak to a member of the team); we accept parties of up to 10 people on weekdays and up to 8 on weekends.

Rocksalt will be open 7 days a week for the October half term Mon 20th Oct–Sun 2nd Nov, Mon 15th Dec-Sun 4th Jan ready to welcome you during the festive season, and for the February half term Mon 16th Feb–Sun 22nd Feb 2026.

We cater for all dietary requirements, please let us know when you book. Note—dogs are not permitted inside the main restaurant.
